Forgotten WWI Wrecks TalK
Jutland 100 has just been celebrated and now the Great British public and diving fraternity are more familiar with this famous sea battle. However many WWI wrecks are largely forgotten about.
The Maritime Archaeology Trust has been fortunate enough to be funded by a Heritage Lottery grant. As a result a four year project has been put in place to coincide with the centenary of the Great War. At the heart of the project is a desire to raise the profile of a currently under-represented aspect of the First World War. This conflict left a rich legacy – did you know that England’s south coast has over 1,000 wartime wrecks?
The Maritime Archaeology Trust has therefore scheduled two talks this month.
Wednesday 22nd June at 19.30
– Falmouth Watersports Association, The Boat Park, Grove Place, Falmouth, TR11
Wednesday 29th June at 19.30
– Totnes Civic Hall, Market Square, High Street, Totnes, TQ9
You are most welcome to attend either.
