Fourth Element seeks an Apparel Design Engineer

This is a unique opportunity for a talented, creative and technically adept individual to work with Fourth Element – an internationally recognized leader in the diving apparel sector – while being supported by academics from the fields of digital design and fashion based at Falmouth University.

Based predominantly at Fourth Element’s premises in Cornwall, UK, this role will focus on the development of product design and manufacturing techniques, researching body measuring and pattern cutting technology to improve the fit of diving dry suits.

As a minimum you will have a degree level qualification in Apparel Design or Product Development, or closely related field. Additional design experience within a commercial environment and the managing of design projects would be desirable. You will have technical design experience including the use of pattern cutting and grading software e.g. Gerber systems.  Experience or knowledge of automated measurement technology/digital body scanning and how it is currently employed in the sector would be of benefit.

The role will involve working with, and liaising across, a broad spectrum of disciplines; from apparel design to digital technology and even computer science.
